Dock Diving

Dock diving combines pure physical exercise and conditioning with the excitement of a competition sport!  Many organizations offer games, competitions, and titles based on different criteria that taps into your dog’s desire to swim and fetch a toy.  The most common is a distance jump where your dog is judged on how far they will jump out horizontally before touching the water.  The distance is most often judged at the point where the base of the tail touches the water. 

Another well-known competition is speed retrieve, which is judged on how quickly your dog jumps and retrieves a toy at the other end of the pool and brings it back to you.  The Ranch holds 2 competitions each year where we offer a standard distance jumping and also many fun games – past games have included a “catch it” game (where the distance only counts if the toy is caught in the air) and a “radar” game (where your dog’s running speed down the dock is captured with a radar gun).  All of our instructors compete in dock diving, and you can see more about them on the “About Us” page.  We are the only business in Georgia that has a full size competition quality pool and dock!

Group Classes

Our group classes for dock diving are unique in that we offer a 4 week class limited to 4 students!  This allows for all of the dogs to get plenty of water time, really get exercised, and improve faster.  We also believe that our students enjoy a more comfortable and fun social atmosphere and retain more in smaller groups.  We offer classes for all levels from new swimmers to competition jumpers.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Private and semi-private lessons can be scheduled during weekdays, weekends, and evenings during our pool’s open season.  Sharing of lessons allows for students of similar skill levels to split an hour of training.

Rentals

During the open season our pool is available to rent by the hour. Our pricing for rentals is based on how many dogs are coming to swim.  Large group rentals for parties or breed events can also be arranged.
