Frisbee is a fun sport for any dog that likes to chase objects, and if your dog likes a tennis ball, it’s even easier to transition to a Frisbee (referred to as a flying disc). There are two types of competitions available to those interested in learning flying disc. Toss n Fetch is a straight forward throwing competition – most venues have different rules, but all typically allow points for distance gained, and a bonus for accuracy or vertical lift when catching. Freestyle is a sport choreographed to music, and includes tricks and acrobatic stunts that you and your dog perform together.
Private or semi-private lessons are available to teach both toss n fetch and freestyle. We work with you and your dog to help you increase your throwing accuracy, catching accuracy, get rid of problematic behaviors (such as not releasing the disc), and even choreographing a routine.
Clinics are available several times per year. The first two hours will focus on improving your throwing, and the last hour will include some freestyle tips. You must bring a crate or be prepared to leave your dog in your car during the throwing sections of the clinic. If your dog does not do well off-leash, please bring a long line.
