Rally Obedience is a popular dog sport based on traditional obedience competition with a fun twist! Rally is judged by the team’s ability to navigate and accomplish a course of obedience signs. Each sign gives you directions, such as take 3 steps backwards in heel position, send your dog over a jump, or have your dog hold a sit stay while you walk in a circle around them. This is a fun way to challenge yourself and your dog while practicing your obedience commands. Judging is based on a point system, and scores are based on how well you perform each station. Novice level competitions are on-leash, which gives you and your dog confidence to work through distracting situations. Rally can be used as a tool to gain ring experience with your dog before having them off-leash during traditional obedience or agility competitions. For more information on our Instructor’s background, please see the About Us page. For class schedule, please see Calendar.
In order to maintain high standards of training, we limit our class size to 6 students per class. By keeping our class sizes low we believe our students retain more, learn faster, and enjoy a more comfortable social environment as well. Rally classes are generally indoors, however, to prepare for trials we may do some practice outside as competitions can also be held in outdoor arenas. Each session is 6 weeks long.
